Runoff Election News

Early Vote for the April 13th Democratic Primary Run-Off Election starts Monday, April 5th. Fortunately, Ursula does not face a primary opponent. Runoffs are required only when no candidate receives a majority of the votes cast in an election; Ursula garned an impressive 61.8% of the vote. Nonetheless, good citizenship requires that we all go out and vote! There are runoff elections in both the Democratic and Republican primaries.

Early Voting starts today, Monday, April 5th at 37 locations around Harris County and ends Friday, April 9th. Polls are open form 7:00 am – 7:00 p.m. every day during Early Voting. Unlike election day, April 13, 2010, when you must vote only in the precinct where you are officially registered, early votes can be cast anywhere throughout the county, regardless of the voter’s residence or the precinct on his or her voter registration certificate. Ballots by mail must be received no later than Tuesday, April 6th.

You can find county-wide information, for both parties, at http://www.harrisvotes.com.
